Thanks.<br /><br />You are exactly right in your big-picture remark: "Rather than lending itself to big blockbuster action, the TV series was actually a cerebral, intricately plotted, origami-like brain teaser involving a team of spies who were, in essence, government-sponsored con artists." There is much to love about the original, and much to dislike about the Tom Cruise versions. The worst of the new was Jim's betrayal in the first of the series. Ridiculous.
