Sends chills up my spine to this day, remembering that. It was coldblooded.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675393718702467550.post-63326235817331813362013-10-30T20:39:44.545-07:002013-10-30T20:39:44.545-07:00Lois Chiles transition from features to television...Lois Chiles transition from features to television semi-regular only shows how some of the best work we get from actresses come after they leave segue into television serials. I laughed because it reflects so well the shenanigans of JR and holier-than-thou sanctimony of Bobby and the desperation of characters such as Holly and plots and subplots and themes and twists of what was such a fabulous nighttime soap. Thanks for capturing all of that. Your thesis is sound. What ever happened to Lois Chiles?

But again, I cannot help but laugh. Bobby was such an ass. No wonder I always rooted for JR. Seldom, if ever, in over 50 years of reading books and viewing movies and television have I cheered for the "dark side." DALLAS was the exception. JR was always so much more likeable. Bobby such a twit. The new DALLAS sort of "sold out" on the divide of good vs. evil within the Ewing family, as JR and Bobby, together, figure out a way to work for the long-term benefit of the family. JR is mourned and loved, but only in death. Bobby is a little less holier-than-thou, and has dirtied his hands a little bit more. I loved the old JR, and really wish the writers had written in his victory over Bobby. They just could not bring themselves to allow "evil" to triumph.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
